Prescribed by your dental professional,Clear aligners that have been developed specifically for aligning your teeth in a predictable, smooth and comfortable manner. Instead of metal brackets, wires or screws, you’ll be wearing a clear, high quality plastic material to achieve your desired results.Clear aligners work on basic orthodontic principles. They are used for the correction of crooked teeth, gaps or rotation, while achieving the desired results in an organized and planned fashion. These customized trays are transparent and move the tooth in the desired direction. This is achieved through wearing a series of Active Aligners, each for 22 hours a day, 1 to 2 weeks at a time (one stage), which move the teeth per stage until their optimal alignment has been reached.

Post-treatment Care For Braces

About one to two weeks after dental braces have been removed, an appointment is made for retainer placement. Sometimes, however, retainers can be fabricated and placed at the braces removal appointment. Once your braces are removed, you should see us regularly for teeth cleaning. Our orthodontist will clean any leftover adhesive off your teeth and the area where the braces were, but it is important to have a thorough oral cleaning after removal.

  • Brush & Floss twice a day to keep your teeth healthy. Healthy teeth respond better to the treatment.
  • Visit your dentist on time for follow-up checks. Make a note of your appointments and follow suggestions, if any.
  • Rinse with water after you eat anything sugary and after coffee, tea, and other stain-causing foods. This helps prevent stains and keeps your teeth white.
  • Clean your retainers. Make this part of your daily routine. Once it becomes a habit, it won’t feel like a bother anymore.

Post-treatment Care For Aligners

  • Brush your teeth after eating and before putting your aligners back in your mouth, to avoid staining them
  • Rinse your aligners every night and brush them gently with lukewarm water and a soft toothbrush
  • Never use toothpaste or hot water, as this could damage them and bend them out of shape
  • Use an aligner cleaning solution once a week for a deep clean. Your orthodontist will advise you about this before you start treatment
